House of Spectrum

The House of Spectrum is overlighted by the Dove, a beloved symbol of peace, hope and grace, in union with the Bat.

The Bat represents death and rebirth in the sense of letting go the old parts of us that are not needed and bringing in the new.Letting go of old habits, perceptions or behavioural patterns that prevent us from moving forward to discover our true highest potential. We need to let these old parts go as they hinder our growth and keep us in a state of stagnancy.

Understandably we fear change because we are going into the unknown and the outcome is not assured. Fear can debilitate us, giving us reasons to resist change and we may even do everything to avoid it even though we know a better future awaits us. This is where the Bat’s quality comes in to guide us through this transition.

The Bat uses its acute sensory power of perception to guide its movements in the night. Symbolically the Bat is our guardian providing courage to uncover the hidden parts of ourselves that we find difficult to embrace. Did we hide them in the dark so that nobody will know who we truly are, even to ourselves? The Bat, with its excellent vision, is able to see straight into our hearts. It helps us to conquer our fears, face our truth and put an end to the burden weighing us down.

By facing our fears, we take charge of our emotions, empowering ourselves and rising above our situations to bring our lives to where our real happiness is.

Did you know that bats are symbols of happiness, joy and prosperity? The Chinese word for bat sounds identical to the word for good fortune. Five bats together represent the “Five Blessings” of longevity, wealth, health, happiness and peace.

Perhaps our hidden parts only needed love to help us break through the illusion of ourselves. Through the spirit of the Dove who promises that love and grace will always be in our lives. The Dove is a bringer of hope and new beginnings, giving us peace in its deepest and purest form. The Dove will always be there if we seek and find it. We are reminded to spread our wings and allow ourselves to reach greater heights. To fly as high as we allow our spirit to be free and let the wind carry us to a new direction, to a new way of living.

Both the Dove and Bat support us to make a new beginning. Facing ourselves need not be fearful, if we remember to seek out the grace where we know we can always express our true selves joyfully.
